Dark green fritillary -- seen along a hedgerow at the foot of the Downs,above Birling.

June 9th (New Hythe)

06:30 - 09:00 West scrub

My first ringing session since March,but it proved to be disappointing.I only caught one bird,a Song Thrush.
However I was compensated by nice views of Nightingales,which appeared to be in almost every bush.In all six were still in song and one pair was seen collecting food.
