Waxwings at long last,in a garden at the junction of St Katherine`s road and Birling road,Snodland, still present at 2.pm.(33 birds).
Its a shame its such poor light for photography, I hope they stay around for a while.

The birds gather in the tree in the photo, then fly down to a much smaller tree/shrub which looks like it has pink berries,I don`t like to use my bins. How they find such a bush makes the mind boggle its not as if it has bright red berries.

Two Redwing were seen in the garden today and so far we have had up to (20) Reed Buntings.

  5. Alan.
I went to the area at 3pm today, but there was no sign of them. We drove around the roads but it was getting dark, maybe tomorrow.

  6. Thanks Alan, I'll keep my fingers crossed. I understand there was also a report of Waxwing at Brook House, New Hythe today as well - could be the same flock I guess?

  7. Hi Alan, great find there, excellent news. Is the location St Katherine's Lane? where the school is? I have 2 daughters who live close by there, I might have to visit them tomorrow!!! I did go there today briefly(approx. 12.15pm) but I couldn't see any Waxwings, plenty of Redwing about there though.

  12. Hi Alan, I did drive up to the corner, but I turned around and parked outside the school, thats probably how I missed them. I will have another go tomorrow, and thanks very much for the tip off too. If I get to see them, it will be a 1st for me, cheers.
