Last week Jeanette and I stayed in a cottage overlooking the Ysgir Fawr river,a tributary of the Usk in the hamlet of Pont-faen.From the balcony we watched Grey Herons,Grey Wagtails and a family of Dippers feeding along the river,with Common Buzzards and Red Kites overhead.

Nightingale

This morning  in the Brook House area I retrapped Nightingale T677063.This bird a male,is now my oldest surviving ringed Nightingale at eight years (hatched in 2007).The oldest BTO ringed Nightingale on record,is just one month and nineteen days older.

Birds caught- Nightingale 2 one being a retrap. 0500 - 0545).
