I only walked the white route but must have seen at least ten White Storks nests,all with young.Two Red Kites,one Turtle Dove and croaking Nightingales were also noted.This year I was told 47 young white Storks have been reared.

A  male Cuckoo has been seen in the vicinity of the Conservation lake all summer and was heard and seen again this morning 16th.Also seen this morning were a pair of Teal along the river (unusual sighting for June,although they have been known to breed in the past along with several ad Med Gulls.  

                                         

May 20th and 21st (New Hythe)

Photo Cetti`s ,Chiffchaff ,Nightingale,Cuckoo,Wren and Garden Warbler.

 15th,during the morning,Glenn was quite certain that he had heard a Night Heron whilst in his garden.  Later he had 5 Hobbies hunting over the small Tesco lake at 20:57.He had seen none in the area at 19:30.

16th,a Tawny Owl was heard calling from the Oak in the NW corner of Abbey Meads.

17th,two Common Sandpipers seen in the lakes area and a Cuckoo was seen in the East scrub.

One possibly two Black Redstarts are still singing within the New Hythe Business park (Andrew).

Last week a Mistle thrush was seen in my garden feeding on cotoneaster berries (the first for at least forty years).

The above Collared  Dove egg  was found in my garden without its hard shell.Probably a result of (Nutritional Deficiency,Calcium).
