February 23rd (East Malling)

Today at East Malling research station I saw at least 50 Waxwings.The birds are still feasting on the fallen apples there.

February 5th (East Malling)

Twenty four Waxwings were present today in the orchards (research station),behind East Malling church.Also present were 100s of Fieldfare and Redwing,but no Brambling were seen.

February 3rd (Halling marshes)

Gadwall

I looked in on Halling marshes this morning.The flooded fields which border Marsh road have been particularly good this winter,especially for seeing wildfowl and Snipe.

Birds seen - Grey-lag Goose 63,Canada Goose 6,Mallard 43,Gadwall 32,Teal 38,Wigeon 1,Little Egret 1,Moorhen 15,Little Egret 1,Snipe 9,Pied Wagtail 1,Grey Wagtail 1,Meadow Pipit 6 and Stoechat 1.
