October 23rd (Sandwich Bay and Oare Marshes)

Although the catch was rather small this morning,we had a nice variety.

Blackcaps,Chiffchaffs,Goldcrests,2 Firecrests,Blackbirds,Chaffinch,Goldfinches,Redpolls,Great Tits,Blue Tits,L T Tits and 2 Fieldfare. The last of which were a first for this autumn.I believe up to five Ring Ouzels were about,Unfortunately none of which made their way into the nets.

At Oare marshes,Dunlin have greatly increased in numbers. The Dowitcher is still present, but apparently the Wilson`s may have departed.

October 17th (Sandwich Bay)

The main talking point first thing at Sandwich this morning, was about the continuing affect Ophelia was having. However this all changed later, when Sunday`s DUSKY WARBLER was re trapped in the Haven. This was a bit of a surprise as it was first time since Sunday,it had been seen. The bird was very quickly processed, just its fat, muscle score and weight being noted. It weighed 9.0gm and had put on 1.2gm,since Sunday.
