June 28th (New Hythe)

I spent a couple of hours this morning looking at a lone Golden plover on the river. It was feeding on the spit exposed at low tide, looking from the Bucket Wood.It never came that close, spending most of the time feeding towards the back of the spit.I only had my bins and camera,so getting a good view was difficult.Could it be a Lesser,it looked slim and the legs long, but then it flew a short distance and I saw that its under wing looked pale, possibly ruling out Lesser.

Other birds present - Grey Heron 10,Little Egret 3,Oystercatcher 3,Great Black backed Gull 1,Herring Gull 20,Black headed Gull 10,Mallard 3,Cormorant 2.

Any comments on the Plover would be welcome.
