The drake Scaup has now moved onto the Streamside lake.

                 AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR

Its been a funny year.The cold wet spring,had an affect on breeding productivity for many species.Yet for those of us that keep yearly totals its been a good year at New Hythe.Red necked Grebe,Scaup,Great White Egrets,Short eared Owl,Red-rumped Swallow,Goldeneye,White fronted Geese and Hen Harrier helped boost the total.

Siskin and Redpolls remain hard to locate and this autumn/winter Redwing and especially Fieldfare are in very short supply.
