April 18th and 20th (New Hythe)








Bright SW.

Seen today,Marsh Harrier Common Sandpiper and Red Kite (Bucket wood).Two Garden warblers,one was seen at Abbey Meads and the other in the East scrub,where a Hobby was sighted overhead.Later during the afternoon two Common Terns were seen over Brookland lake.This species in recent years has become a scarce passage migrant through the area.  

20th Alders lake 5 Swifts,many Sand and House Martin.A Lesser Whitethroat was seen in the East scrub (Andrew).

April 9th,10th,12th and 13th (New Hythe)












On the 9th,I counted 12 singing Nightingales in the Park and the first Reed Warbler and Whitethroat were noted.

the 10th,was much cooler at least during the morning,I only heard 3 Nightingales.However 2 Reed Warblers were singing at the dipping pond and a Whitethroat was nearby.The first Little Ringed Plover was seen.

The highlight was the sighting of three Marsh Harrier,one being a male. 

On the 12th,a Cuckoo was seen in the Sunken marsh.

13th,a cuckoo flew through the conservation lake.

April 8th (New Hythe)

Clear and warm.

Five Nightingales were noted in the Park this morning.Their song though was very infrequent,meaning some may have been missed.

A Whitethroat was seen in the West scrub (Andrew).


  

Same perch,same pose as last spring (bird just along  the path from the water treatment car park.

April 5th and 7th (New Hythe)





Bright but cool,W/SW.

Bucket wood  2 Shelduck  4 Teal  5 Oystercatcher and 1 Raven.

Med gulls have been in evidence since mid March,one was seen today at New Hythe.

Another Red Kite was seen during the afternoon passing high over my garden,SW.

7th A NIGHTINGALE was heard briefly during the afternoon in the East scrub and 10 Med Gulls passed over the west scrub.
