Birdfinders,holidays.

The bird I most wanted to see on this trip (its not seen every year),was Pallas`s Sandgrouse and I am pleased to say,we saw ten.

Another bird near to the top of my wish list,was,Himalayan Snowcock.Instead of the expected scope view of a bird high up on some ridge.We were treated to close views of a bird from the coach.

It proved to be a well organised trip,with great birds and company.

April 26th (New Hythe)

This afternoon,I walked through the East and West scrub and then along the track to the Brook House area.I heard twelve Nightingales and saw four of them.
One bird was singing in the open.

April 25th (New Hytyhe)

Bucket Wood (nearing high tide) 15:00 - 16:00. bright periods,SW.

Birds seen - Common Buzard 1  Common Sandpiper 2  Little Ringed Plover 2  Shelduck 2  Peregrine 1  Great Black backed Gull 1  Black headed Gull 6  Grey Heron 1  Little Egret 1  Cormorant 2  Cetti`s Warbler 1 heard.

April 12th (New Hythe)

I heard my first Nightingale on the 5th,followed by 4 on the 10th.Since then they have  have been rather quite,must be due to the cold north easterlies of late.

April 2nd (Allders lake.Leybourne)

(16:00 - 16:20) Chilly.cloud,rain shower,W/SW.

Birds seen -  Red Kite SW  Common Buzzard 1  Sparrowhawk 1  Sand Martin 100  Swallow 1.

On the 1st,I saw four Oystercatcher at New Hythe lakes,
