December 13th (East Malling)

After failing to see the two reported Waxwing at East Malling yesterday.I went back there this morning to try again.This time,my luck was in,but as far as myself and others could tell,only one bird was present.

December 11th (New Hythe)

East scrub (08:00 - 10:00) frosty start,calm.

December 2nd (New Hythe)

Cold and sunny - 08:30  10:00.

River - low - Birds seen from the Bucket wood.
Teal 32  Gadwall 6  Mallard  8  Little Egret 1 Lapwing 15  Redshank 3  Black headed Gull 45  Little Grebe  4  Sparrow Hawk 1  Common Buzzard 2.

Walking through the East scrub,just a small number of Redwing were in the bushes.Fifteen Fieldfare flew over high heading NW and the Peregrine was seen on the pylon again.

On the 22nd,of last month,a Grey Wagtail was a surprise catch in my garden net and a short while latter a Redwing was seen in the garden.

November 1st (CATCH UP)



The Pheasant was a garden tick,seen earlier this month (very unusual,as we are on a housing estate)

The Coal Tit,was only the second garden tick,the first was way back in 1981,Interestingly,this birds back looks to be grey,possibly a continental bird.

The Sparrowhawk,is a regular visitor during the late afternoon.We have a roost of House Sparrows in our front garden.
