 August 9th (Birling)

Short-eared Owl,flushed from a stubble field at the foot of the Downs above Birling.

( unusual date and location) most probably a early migrant.

August 5th (MORE BITS AND PIECES)

Grey Heron, (seen from the Bucket Wood) New Hythe.

Common Buzzard,3 seen over  Birling Lodge Gardens,good for regular sightings of this species.

Lesser Emperor dragonfly (Brookland lake.

August 4th (BITS AND PIECES)

Ringing in West scrub (2X40) (06:00 - 09:00)  June 30th,July 20th,July 24th and August 4th.

Willow Warblers continue their decline (none trapped) only seen in the spring on passage.
