After yesterdays wind,today was a lot calmer,with long sunny periods.I spent another very pleasant morning and early afternoon at Sandwich.birds ringed-Chiffchaff 18,Chaffinch 2,Coal Tit 1 (British bird),Robin 1,Blackcap 9,Carrion Crow 1 (caught in a net,which was unusual and painful to get out (for the ringer),Wren 1,Long-tailed Tit 8 and Blue Tit 2.Other birds seen in the area were - 600 Goldfinch,21 Siskin,15 Alba Wagtails,12 Stonechat,10 Pinkfeet,1 Sparrowhawk and 1Peregrine.British Coal Tits are quite rare at the Bay,Continental birds are more usual but occur later in the year.
