June 28th (New Hythe)

Garden Warbler and Chiffchaff
E/W scrub 2x40ft nets (0600-0930).

BIRDS SEEN - seen - Rook,Crow,Jackdaw,Common Whitethroat,Garden Warbler,Chiffchaff,Reed Warbler,Nightingale,Wren,Blackbird,Song Thrush,L T Tit,Great Tit,Green Woodpecker,Cetti`s Warbler,Dunnock,Robin,Wood Pigeon,L B B Gull,Herring Gull and Blackcap.

BIRDS RINGED

Chiffchaff  2 adults.

L T Tit  2 re traps  (both ringed on 07 09 2014)

Dunnock  1 (1 re trap ( ringed on 28 04 2014)

Robin  3 juv

Garden Warbler  1 adult

Reed Warbler  1 adult

Blackbird  1 juv

Great Tit  1 juv

Common Whitethroat  1 juv

TOTAL  11 +  (3) re traps

June 10th-17th (NORTH WALES)

Jeanette and I spent last week in a  holiday cottage near Dolgellau,north Wales.The bird watching was very good with Nuthatch,G S Woodpecker,Coal Tit and Spotted Flycatcher in the garden and in the woods at the bottom of the garden were two pairs of Wood Warblers.

Meadow Pipits were very common on the moorland.

June 8th (BITS AND PIECES)

Nightingale (Abbey Mead)
I heard a Tawny Owl call from the north-western end of Abbey Meads on June 8th.Apparently
it has been around for at least two weeks.

Yellowhammer (male)
A pair of Yellowhammers,now a very scarce breeding bird in the valley are breeding again in the cereal fields between Snodland and Paddlesworth.

I saw 4 Little Egrets along the river from the Bucket wood on June 2nd and I heard 1 Cuckoo calling.

On May 18th,I ringed another male Nightingale in the Brook House area,which now makes 5 there.
