May 25th (Snodland)

These birds came over my garden at 09:40.They look like long winged birds of prey,bills look pale or yellow.I could not get a good view as they were going away. (any thoughts).Could they be Honey Buzzards,although their heads look rather heavy and that bill!

My final count for singing Nightingals in Leybourne Park (32) Holborough marsh 8 Eccles Old factory/island Site 21 Ham Hill,former golf course 7 and Brookland lake/Abbey Merads 13. 

The Hobby was photographed this afternoon over the conservation lake.

May 2nd/3rd (New Hythe)





This past week has seen the arrival of more summer visitors.Nightingales now number at least 26 in the Park with 11 east of the railway (Brookland/Abbey Mead) area.Up to two Cuckoo have been seen,8 Sedge Warblers,3 Garden Warblers,good numbers of Common Whitethroats and 2-3 Lesser.Two Hobbies were seen on the 29th and a pair of Garganey on Abbey Mead on the 22nd.

On the morning of the third I counted singing Nightingales again in the Eccles Old factory area and added four more,making a total of 21. 

I saw a nice male Ring Ouzel  feeding in the East scrub during the evening of the 3rd,7pm.
