Over the past week or more a few good birds have been seen in the area.Five Cattle Egrets at Burham marsh on the 13th,a Raven near Laundry cottage Snodland 19th,a Wheatear on plough at the foot of the Downs near Paddlesworth 21st,a G W Egret flew over the Sunken marsh on the 22nd and a Spotted Flycatcher was seen on the edge of the west scrub 23rd.A few Siskin and Meadow Pipits were heard passing over New Hythe on the 13th.

September 11th (New Hythe)
I was ringing in the West scrub this morning 06:30 - 09:30 2X40 and 1X60.
BIRDS RINGED
Blackcap 11 several still in juvenile moult.
Chiffchaff 2 one still in juvenile moult.
On the 9th five Wigeon were present on Abbey Meads,The following day I could only locate four but a drake Pochard was a nice bonus.Good records for early September.
RECOVERY

controlled 03 09 23 (3) Lodge Hill,Medway 13 days 15 Km NNE.
Some young birds range north,before eventually heading south.
