July 27th (New Hythe)



I  think the Gods must have been looking down on me this morning.When I woke up,I thought wouldn`t it be nice to catch a Grasshopper Warbler and what did the first net round reveal the above bird.

It proved to be a juvenile just starting its post juvenile moult and about two hundred yards from where we had the singing bird in the spring.

July 14th (New Hythe)


On Saturday the 12th,2-3 Red Kites and 2 Peregrines were seen from Bucket wood and the following day,6 Little Egrets. 

All this month Tufted duck have been building in numbers.One possibly two drake Pochard are present in the area and 3 Shoveler were



seen on the Road island lake on the 13th,along with a juvenile Cuckoo in the Sunken marsh.

Cetti`s Warbler and Garden Warbler,both ringed in the East scrub.
