Disappointingly our excursion out to the Minneriya tank was curtailed due to extensive flooding of the area,we instead visited a smaller reserve.Birds that I noted amongst a few others were Changable hawk Eagle (2) Black-winged Kite (1) and Jerdon`s Bushlark (1).The bird I most wanted to see Sri Lanka Junglefowl,I missed,although the jeep in front holding non bird-watchers saw one cross the track in front of them.
