PAST TIMES ( April 10th,1971)

New Hythe ( Abbey Mead )

At last I believe birds are moving.
One drake Red-breasted Merganser,1 duck Common Scoter,3 Goldeneye,1 Tufted Duck,3 pairs of Teal,3 pairs of Great Crested Grebes (one of which is nesting) and a few Coot.
Along the bank (western) were  good numbers of Pied Wagtail,at least 15,also 3 Lapwing (which were the first for a while),about 15 Linnet,25 Meadow Pipit,3 Skylark and 1 Green Sandpiper,a small flock of Redpoll  also passed over east.
