A few weeks ago,I received information from the BTO on a bird that I had ringed in the West Scrub.

JAT869 Willow Warbler (3j) in juvenile plumage,ringed on the  07 Sept 2016

(controlled),caught by a ringer at Laguna,de la Nava,Palencia,Spain,on the 25 Aug 17.The bird had presumably stopped off,to put on more fuel. Before continuing further south to its wintering area in Africa.
Other birds that I saw--the long staying Goosander and four Lesser Redpolls. The Redpolls were the first I have seen in the area this winter.

  1. About time some redpolls turned up on site Alan. The only ones I've seen were from the footpath along the side of the motorway lake down Lunsford lane. Nice to see the Goosander is still there.
