May 31st (Snodland)

Saturday morning,I walked across the fields from my home to Birling. On the way there I saw the usual birds that I have come to expect,Skylark,Yellowhammer,Common Buzzard and Common Whitethroat. On reaching Birling,I cut through the church yard and out across the fields, with Birling Lodge Gardens to my left, which seen from the foot path, are situated on a ridge (good for seeing Great Spotted Woodpecker,Green,Stock Dove and a pair of Common Buzzard). The path, eventually takes you to the bottom of Legge Lane and to the now disused Ham Hill Golf Course. The walk from my home is roughly circular and takes about one and a half hours.
Saturday though it took three, feeding low over a sheep/hay field at Legge Lane.I came across a mixed flock of Herring,Lesser-Black backed,Black headed and circa 35 Med Gulls. On June the 1st,circa 50 were present.

The Med Gull with the green ring is most probably from France and the bird with a white ring Belgium.

Med Gull  3KRL white colour ring (Belgium) record sent off.(read on the 02 06 2020).
